Who should be considered the most popular Mayor in history, the one who serves the longest or the one who gets reelected the most times? Compounding the issue is also the fact that Amsterdam’s Mayoral term has swung back and forth between two-and four-years since 1900 and there was even a time that term limits prevented reelection efforts in the first place. So I chose to rank Amsterdam’s Mayors since 1900 by the number of times the voters gave them a majority of votes, straight and simple.
