November 15 – Happy Birthday Richard Rocco

Rocco2Just two days after word came that Amsterdam native Michael Lynch had been killed in Vietnam, an article on the front page of the March 19, 1969 edition of the Amsterdam Recorder revealed his classmate in the 1966 graduating class from Wilbur Lynch High School had also made the supreme sacrifice. His name was Richard Rocco, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rocco of Chopin Parkway. At the time the young man was serving his second tour of duty in the beleaguered Southeast Asian country…
